I wrote this poem this afternoon over coffee. It feels rich. It feels deep and it evokes something deep within me, and I hope it evokes something within you.

ONE BOMB

One bomb
The whole block gone
Can’t find my children
And dust covers the sun
Everywhere is noise, panic
And confusion
But to some another fun day in Babylon
Maxi Jazz (Faithless) Bombs

APRIL 23, 1945

The bomb explodes, shaking every wall inside the tiny house, as I bury myself beneath my mothers skirt.

Screams of my sibling sky-rocket through the walls as another blast shakes the floor to a stand still.

A rubbled stand-still, covered with dust, searing inside my eyes. ‘Mama, Mama.’ I cry

What is this piece of aRt I put upon thee,
Capturing beauty in form and grace,
In black or white lace,
…of tidings that go amiss,
and get lost in the seduction,
and senSual abyss…
