And the latest 50’s-60’s Mixtape Mashup consisting of two sides like all good cassettes. A-Side is public and was released 24 hours ago, and has already reached the global charts for Rock #3rd & Pop #10th. You can listen here

It’s been interesting visiting this era in music for a couple of reasons.

As an avid music fan, and musician/songwriter I notice most of the songs are just over 2 minutes long, and they all end abruptly with just a quick fade out ☺
Listening with headphones is a very different experience as many songs have emphasis of vocals in one ear, while in the other often an instrument is emphasised. The quality of recording, or how we record today is so very different.

And… some of the lyrics are questionable LOL

My DJ drop did it’s weird speed up thingy a few times on A-side, but hopefully I got it right on the B-Side 😜

It’s been fun visiting this classic era, and it reminded me just how much good music was around back then. I’ve only just scratched the surface as there’s heaps more to choose from for subsequent volumes.

This one I wrote at 6am this morning, I still haven’t slept, and then I decided to put it into a visual format with the backing track of ‘Swan Song’, taken from our album ‘The Wyld Sessions’ which can be found here

How has your week been treating you? Let me know in the comments below because I love hearing what you’ve been getting up to good, bad or otherwise. It’s how we all connect at the end of the day isn’t it? Being open and relatable, instead of just empty words on a page.

So, what do I have in store for you this week?

If you like the 80’s-90’s music then you’re gonna LOVE this MIXTAPE MASHUP broken into two parts as any good cassette tapes are.

Remember these?

A-Side + B-Side, and often having to use the end of a pencil to get into those wheels and rewind the flimsy film/tape as they’d either get stuck or unravel because of over-use LOL.

In the digital age we no longer have to worry about that, but I don’t know about you, I still love the idea of listening to a cassette even though compared with vinyl or CD’s they didn’t even come close to quality of sound, but they looked kinda cool, well at least now they do since they have become retro!

A-SIDE will be for public listening and B-SIDE will be ‘exclusive’ for my wonderful and supportive subscribers.

There’s a crazy blooper in both sides of the MIXTAPE MASHUP, where my DJ drop decided to do this crazy speed up. I decided to leave it in, just because I can, and it’s a MIXTAPE, and what were they known for?

Can you guess?

Yep, speeding up or slowing down sections of a song, so it gives it a touch of unintentional authenticity LOL. It’s kinda mad, but you’ll get it if you used to listen to cassette tapes. 😜
