‘Tie me up like I’m surprised, Let’s roleplay, I’ll wear a disguise, I want you to park that big Mack truck right in this little garage, Make it cream, make me scream’
Cardi B
Some context behind the above quote and the following poem goes something like this.
Women have been objectified since time immemorial, and sadly with pornography everywhere, at the tap of on app on your phone, BOOM! There it is.
I have extremely strong views about Pornography and the damage it causes to both men and women, but I will not go into that here. This post is to highlight how dangerous the world has always been for women, and how it’s increasingly more dangerous for women, especially young and impressionable women who are now buying into the LIE that is pornography. These women are feeling the pressure to perform acts that go against what they truly want, because the man expects his lover to perform in such a way.
There was a time not that long ago, that BDSM was considered a fetish, and the people who were into it had clubs to fulfil their desire. Since PORNHUB and the like being readily available EVERYWHERE, it is now considered mainstream, and acceptable and normal behaviour.
To be honest this saddens me on so many levels that are deeply personal, and am reluctant to share here, so the next best thing is to write a poem about it.
Oh, and the lyrics such as ‘WAP’ by Cardi B of which many young girls and women look up to, is not helping women. It is giving men permission to treat us as objects. And pressuring women to behave in ways that for the most part, do not want to.
Just think about any WAR, how the enemy is demonised, they are no longer looked at as human beings which makes them easy to kill.
You may say that is one helluva comparison to draw, but personally isn’t that what society, men, and the porn industry do to women? If women aren’t respected as a human being with a heart, love and feelings, they are easy to abuse, traffick and/or at the very least take advantage of.
This is a heavy subject for a Sunday night, but remember, women live with one eye open all the time.
If you are a woman reading this, you know what I’m talking about. If you are a man reading this, I hope you have learned something.
Strangulation of love
The world is a mess I do confess, I try hard, And as hard as I might, I know I don't always get it right. Life is a strange embodiment of oddities, and strangulations, of what is real and pure, and used against us, forced upon us to perform or endure. It's not supposed to be this way, life is hard enough without all the bombardment of how we should, behave, perform, sexual acts of the perverse, have become the norm. What is right or what is wrong. seems all messed up like no melody in a song. I pray every day that we see the world in a new way, love and respect, wanting and desire, no longer something far from us but within our grasp, and BDSM in every day life a thing of the past. There will always be those with a fetish, and that is for them to relish, sadly it is now mainstream, and that is far from a dream, but a living nightmare of the women who scream silently, broken and bleeding, from within, nursing their wounds, alone, frightened and confused to what is real and what is not, as the norm is to expect to be abused. The world is a mess I do confess, I try hard, And as hard as I might, I pray that all the wrongs in the world will become right. © Samira Wyld 2023
Side Note: Do not confuse senSuality, and seXual expression as an invitation to abuse, or warrant unwelcomed or unsolicited seXual advances.
The images used in this post are senSual, which I am a strong advocate for, anything else would be against everything I believe in.
